Zoe Miller talks 'New Years Eve' with us.

Best selling, Dublin based author, Zoe Miller, (left) talks to us about New Years Eve and what it means to her!

Q: New Years Eve, love it or loathe it?
A:
I like New Year’s Eve. I know in simple terms it is just a mathematical measure of time, but I always feel it’s a chance to start afresh with your hopes and dreams in a brand new year. So that’s an exciting prospect.

Q: Do you plan to paartay or have a quiet night in?
A: This year it’s champagne with the hubby in front of the telly. I’ll light lots of candles and relax on the sofa. When I’ve toasted the midnight hour with hubby, I’ll spend a few moments outside the hall door to welcome in the New Year and watch the neighbourhood fireworks. I’ve enjoyed some wild parties with family and friends, but in recent years my mother spent the New Year with us. Sadly she has passed on, but I’ll definitely raise a glass to her as I like to think she spends New Year’s Eve with us in spirit.

Q: Do you have many resolutions for 2011 and do you think you will keep them?
A:
My main resolutions are to meet the deadline for my next book (definitely must keep to this!) and to get a bit leaner and fitter. (Hmm, a lot more difficult).  Long hours spent at the laptop will mean lots of coffee and chocolate and less time to go walking or to the gym. Now if someone could come up with a way of exercising at your desk...! (yep we can empathise with this problem Zoe)

Q: Are you feeling positive for 2011?
A:
We have to be positive about 2011. As Mary McAleese put it so well, this great little country and its warm and wonderful people cannot be defined solely in terms of economics.  We have to get the uniqueness, talents and great potential of brand Ireland out there and show the world we are open for business. On a personal note, I’m feeling positive about 2011 because I’m looking forward to the launch of my next novel, Rival Passions, in late spring.

In the meantime be sure to check out Zoe's current book 'Sinful Deceptions' (pictured above) on shelves right now.
