What the Industry Peeps are Doing for Xmas: Annemarie Boyhan
So as we have pointed out, the Christmas countdown is on! There are only days to go until we all start winding down, listening to 'Last Christmas' on the radio (that's Wham btw, not Marcus Collins!), finishing the Xmas Card list and stocking up on the Pinot Grigio but have you ever wondered how some of our stylish Industry peeps feel about Christmas? We've been asking them a series of festive questions to find out exactly that! Today we caught up with fashion writer, editor of What She Wears and online fashion editor for MSN Ireland, the very lovely Annemarie Boyhan!
So Annemarie, it's nearly Christmas....
Are you very organised / freaking out?
Surprisingly calm despite the fact that I’ve no presents bought yet. I’m too busy giving others ideas for theirs!
Loving the hype / bah humbugging like mad!
Love it when I finally get into it, i.e Christmas week, until then I choose to ignore it. The ads start earlier each year!
When will you start winding down from work?
The 23rd. Luckily it’s a Friday this year, as working on Christmas Eve sucks.
How crazy is your work schedule up to Christmas?
It’s pretty busy but by next week I think people will be on a go slow. Have you seen the amount of people decked out in Christmas jumpers this year? It’s hilarious.
Your most favourite thing about this time of year is.... catching up with good friends and family. When I lived away, there was a distinct warm fuzzy feeling I got coming home for Christmas, seeing the snowman display at the roundabout at Dublin airport, meeting friends for drinks in town when I landed. Now I look forward to meeting others coming home, and those living at home. There’s something about meeting up at Christmas that’s magical.
Your least favourite thing about this time of year is....
the amount of food and drink I’ll consume. It’s really hard to do anything but go with the flow!
The Top three items on your Christmas wishlist are ....
Some cashmere lounge pants and top – something I never take the time to invest in and always wish I’d bought when I’m freezing cold
A luxe iPad case – Capulet have some gorgeous ones which double up as clutches
A posh puffa – again I’m thinking of ways to wrap up well as I don’t think I’m fully prepared for snow and cold yet
Snow... or No?....
BRING IT ON! If only to try out my new snow boots.
To bling or not to bling, that is the question....
Bling, in a sutle way, if that’s possible!
Your alltime favourite Christmas single is ....
Driving home for Christmas by Chris Rea. It’s what I sing when I’m driving down home from Dublin!
The one person you would simply love to meet under the mistletoe this Christmas would have to be.....
My other half, Ivan.
You love / hate office Christmas parties because ....
Love them ‘cos everyone let’s their hair down.
Your tree is beautifully real or perfectly fake....
The real deal. You can’t beat the smell of it.
TV Programme / film you are most looking forward to over the Christmas period is Absolutely Fabulous on Christmas night, what a fantastic way to make a comeback after 20 years and I’m hoping Stella Mc will make an appearance...sweetie dahling!
Favourite Christmas Tipple....
Mulled wine
And from Christmas tipples to Christmas TIPS - what's your best Christmas tip?
Bite your tongue on Christmas day to keep the peace!
How do you plan to Spend the Christmas holidays?
On my family’s farm in Westmeath. My mum likes to entertain at home each year. Big fires, walks in the woods, movies and catching up..oh and Mass on Christmas Day.
Awww Annemarie's Christmas sounds fab - and AMEN to her Christmas tip of biting your tongue on Christmas day! We've all been there! Thanks Annemarie!
