Five Mins with Journalist 'ROSEMARY MacCABE'
It's our five minute, coffee break quiz - allowing you a sneak peek into the lives of the uber stylish folk who work in this mad industry of ours! This time it's the turn of fab fashionista, Fashion Journalist, Stylist, 'Fash Mob' blogger with the Irish Times and all round ultra cool laydee, Rosemary MacCabe.
Tea or Coffee? Coffee
Corrie or Eastenders? Neither, but I do have a soft spot for the Vampire Diaries
iphone or Blackberry? iPhone
Describe yourself in three words.... hilarious, generous, impatient
Did you always want to be a journalist? I always wanted to write; this just seemed like the easiest way.
What is the best thing about your job? The freebies! No I'm kidding. Getting to do what I love every day; and no two days are the same, which keeps it interesting.
Is there a worst thing? I'd rather stay home and blog and paint my nails, but wouldn't everyone?
What TV Shows do you hate to miss? None - that's what catch-up is for!
Top three TV Presenters..(from anywhere) I don't watch enough TV to have an opinion, but I loved Marian Finucane when she did Prime Time. Vincent Browne always gives me a laugh, and I think Pat Kenny is doing a great job with Frontline.
Music on your ipod right now.. Selena Gomez & The Scene, mortifyingly.
What is the last book you read? Game of Thrones - amazing.
What is your favourite glossy mag? Glamour UK
Style
Your style would best be described as... eclectic
Who would you describe as a style icon? Taylor Tomasi-Hill, Marie Claire US's accessories editor. She dresses how I'd dress if I were very thin and very rich.
What has been your own personal favourite fashion moment? The first show Sarah Burton did for McQueen. There was so much riding on it, and she carried it off with aplomb.
Recent best buy? A large Celine-alike orange leather tote in River Island.
Current favourite item in your wardrobe? My oversized black wrapover Cos jumper, bought on a recent visit to London.
Beauty
Favorite beauty / skincare product? I don't really have favourites - I'm really fickle and change products really often. I'd probably say Benefit Dallas bronzer, but I'm planning on trying a different one when it's finished, so I'm not a very loyal customer!
Foundation, a lifesaver when chosen correctly but notoriously difficult to get just right - what is your favourite? Estee Lauder Double Wear. It goes on, stays on, and then stays on some more. It's amazing, but almost like theatre make-up. I've had to wean myself off as it's VERY heavy - now I only wear it on special occasions.
What make up products would you bring in your handbag every day? Vaseline and lip balm by Burt's Bees. It's tinted so good for a bit of colour. Maybe an eye pencil, but I'm very low maintenance.
If you could only bring one make up product with you on a trip, what would it be? My Shavata eyebrow powder. It's amazing what a difference brows make to your face, and mine are naturally almost invisible.
Finally
What is your ultimate guilty pleasure? I don't believe in guilt, but my ultimate pleasure - and proud of it - would have to be back treatments. I really love having my back scratched, so whenever I can, I go for back scrubs and massages. I know that sounds so weird, but I just love having my back scrubbed. I nearly always fall asleep, I'm like a really contented cat.
If you could go on one date with anyone in the world right now..who would it be and why? Alexander Skarsgard, because I love his character in True Blood, think he's an amazing actor and SO hot. Plus he's not TOO famous, so I think now's the time to strike.
Top of your wish list right now is .. Topshop Unique's tassle-zipper woven leather ankle boots. Ridiculously high and ridiculously amazing.
