The Grey Goose 'Character & Cocktails' Charity Auction

Grey Goose has become known for its spectacular events worldwide, and this year’s Grey Goose ‘Character & Cocktails’ goes down as one of the best to-date.  Guests of last Saturday night’s event experienced one of the most visually stunning and remarkable social events in the Grey Goose calendar, made only more memorable with a rare live performance by Sir Elton John.

Walking up the red, white and blue carpet that paid homage to the French flag and through a projection of Buckingham Palace guarded by Gaultier’s interpretation of the The Queen’s Guards, guests entered an extraordinary spectacle that combined some of the most iconic Gaultier visuals with classic Parisian and futuristic imagery.

Highlights from the evening were when Jean Paul Gaultier called guests to dinner – “My little roast beef, it’s time to eat”, where they enjoyed a meal designed by two star Michelin Chef, Marcus Wareing. - The Jean Paul Gaultier designed bar was sold for £80,000 in the live auction.  In total, the auction raised a record-breaking £300,000 for EJAF. The 2010 event  raised £600,000 bringing the four year total to more than £2 million raised for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Other highlights of the evening included:
The 45 minute live performance by Sir Elton John which included classic hits and songs from his new album “The Union” with Leon Russell including Tiny Dancer, I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues, When Love Is Dying and the song that got everyone to their feet dancing – I’m Still Standing.
