Social Snaps from the Pre Screening of 'Le Concert'

Invited guests gathered earlier this week at The Lighthouse Cinema for an exclusive screening of the French film, The Concert, which was hosted by THE GLOSS Magazine and Moët & Chandon Cinema Club. The timing of the screening tied in with Bastille Day, 14th July and the Cinema Club was delighted to welcome special guests, the French Cultural Councillor, Mr Patrick Debut along with several other representatives from the French Embassy. Other guests in attendance included actress turned journalist Holly White, Barbara Dawson from the Hugh Lane Gallery and StyleBible blogger Naomi Clarke!

The Concert is set thirty years ago when Andrei Simoniovich Filipov was the celebrated conductor of the renowned Bolshoi Orchestra. During the communist era, he was fired at the height of his fame for refusing to get rid of all his Jewish musicians.

Now demoted to the position of cleaner at the Bolshoi, he learns by chance that the Chatelet Theatre in Paris has invited the Orchestra to perform there. Andrei decides to reunite his orchestra and to perform in Paris in the place of the current Bolshoi Orchestra. He wants Anne-Marie Jacquet (Melanie Laurent), a young virtuoso, as the solo violinist to accompany his old Jewish and gypsy musicians. If they all manage to overcome the hardships ahead, this very special concert will be a triumph.
