The Appy's are Back - 2nd Annual Appy Awards
They're BACK!!!! The Carphone Warehouse are proud to sponsor the second annual Appys Awards, taking place on November 3rd, 2011 in the salubrious surroundings of Dublin's Mansion House. This year's Appys, will be hosted by Phantom FM hottie, Michelle Doherty, and Republic of Telly funny man, Dermot Whelan, promising an electrifying evening of fun and high-tech hi-jinks.
To celebrate their sponsorship of the People’s Choice Category Award, The Carphone Warehouse are running a Facebook competition for fans to vote for their favourite app.

Every day between October 15th and November 3rd, 2011, fans have a chance to vote for their top three apps. The first time you vote, your name is entered into a draw to win a Playbook, the much awaited new tablet PC from Blackberry. You can vote three times a day on Facebook and again on Twitter by tweeting the hashtag #CPWAppys, saying which app you want to win.
To coincide with the launch of the People’s Choice App, there will also be a number of exciting events happening across Dublin city commencing Monday, October 24th. To brighten up commuters' cold mornings, there will also be people dressed in costumes resembling three of the apps in the running for the People’s Choice App – Skype, Angry Birds and Twitter.
They will be appearing along Luas and Dart lines from 7.30am to 9.30am each morning.
The Appys are staged to celebrate the innovation and creativity now abundant in the app development industry and reward the best, most useful, and most creative apps and their developers.
