Daithi and The Rose of Tralee 2010

Well, it’s that time of the year again – and love it or loathe it – it has become a staple part of Irish summer viewing, so we simply HAVE to bring you notification of tonight’s Rose of Tralee coverage, in case AT ALL you have something else planned…. in which case, if you are Irish, or at least grew up in Catholic Ireland, then you will now immediately have to cancel your prior plans, plump up the cushions on the couch and prepare yourself for the self flagellation that is, The Rose of Tralee.

Coverage of the 2010 contest at the Festival Dome to find the 52nd Rose starts tonight at 8pm – breaks for the news (of course) – and continues at 9:35pm. The most (only) interesting thing about tonight’s coverage is that it will be the first time on the Dome stage for presenter Daithi O Se tonight as he interviews the first batch of competitors, and so we will be eagerly watching on to see how the fun loving, dashing Kerry man will do. Each Rose hopes to succeed Co Kildare graduate Charmaine Kenny as a suitable ambassador for Irish communities around the world.

Tonight at 8pm – RTE 1
