Like Mother Like Daughter?
Was it just us or was everyone else gobsmacked, during the last few episodes of the frst season of Glee, at the very real similarities between Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry, and Idina Menzel, who played the role of her biological mother, aka Shelby the tough-as-nails Vocal Adrenaline coach? We thought that either the casting was amazing (let's not forget they can both sing like angels too!) or there actually WAS a biological connection! Well we have been assured that Idina and Lea are no relation to each other, but boy did they shine as Rachel and Shelby (who can forget that amazing rendition of Pokerface?)! Great casting Glee and we are delighted to hear that Idina, as well as Kristen Chenoweth, who played Mister Schu's slightly crazy high school crush April, will be returning to the cast in season 2! Which begs the question, just what is going to happen when Quin realizes that Shelby has adopted her baby?? Looking forward to next season already!! Incidentally, Glee returns to US screens on Tuesday 21 September on Fox, so hopefully we won't have too long to wait until Sue Sylvester is back on our screens terrorising Mister Schu! Prepare to be CRUSHED!
