Quirky Quiffs are all the Rage
The quiff has been around forever, with some stars choosing it as their staple style statement (such as Gwen Steffani pictured left and Irelands own Imelda May) but now certain celebs such as X Factor’s Danni Minnogue are also fast becoming fans of the quiff so Boots technical expert Ruth Fenwick gives her tips for recreating the perfect bouffant:
Start with a good base as a good base is necessary for the illusion of volume and body. Boots Expert Thickening Shampoo, 200ml, €4.49 brings moisture and body to all hair types, which is an essential foundation for the quiff look.
Don’t feel flat - When combined with Botanics Leave-in Volumising Conditioner, 250ml, €4.99 the hair is left full of vitality without being weighed down, which is crucial for achieving this retro look.
Pump up the volume - Apply Boots Essentials Styling Mousse, 200ml, €1.50 for that extra lift. Then wrap the central section of your hair around Boots Heated Rollers (20), €29.99 to curl it backwards away from the face.
Set in place - Once cooled take out the curlers and use Boots Essentials Natural Hold Unperfumed Hair Spray, 450ml, €2.40 to keep your quiff looking perfect all night long.

Ruth Fenwick, Boots Technical Expert for Hair, explains: “Over styling can cause damage to your hair resulting in split ends, breakage and dullness. For fabulous styles like the quiff without the damage, once a week make sure that you use a detox shampoo to remove styling residues, followed by an intensive conditioner and regular visits to the hairdressers a trim.”
