Seasonal Hair Advice from Michael Doyle at Peter Mark

It's the first few days of spring and YES THE WEATHER IS ATROCIOUS but Peter Mark has come to the rescue once again with the reintroduction of their fabulous 20% off all hairdressing special offer. Yippee!

So, as we peruse the new trends in the glossy magazines for inspiration, there’s now no excuse not to update your look and start the New Year feeling fabulously stylish.

Michael Doyle, Creative Director with Peter Mark, shares his inside knowledge of the season ahead in terms of hair trends; “As always, lots of inspiration comes from the International catwalks and celeb style icons.  This spring summer, short pixie or urchin cuts are very directional.  The cut has evolved from the Rihanna inspired short cut of previous seasons, which had a heavy fringe front, to a more old Twiggy style crop.  Harry Potter actress Emma Watson looked incredible on a recent Vogue cover with a replica Twiggy style.  For mid to longer length hair, fringes and bangs are seriously on trend”.

“Update your bob with waves (a la Sienna Miller) and to make an impression, go bold with hair colour”, continues Michael.  “Redheads are the new bombshells of 2011, however blondes needn’t take a back seat, with platinum and white blondes (as seen on model Siri Tollered) ensuring a head turning change for the new year”.   For a more subtle but up to the minute star style look, opt for Balayage highlights, perfect for a natural root, sun-kissed look.

For curls, Michael suggests looking to the 70’s for inspiration.  The curl is moving away from the over groomed, big hair styles of previous years to a more tightened curl, quite disco-esque in style.  This can be achieved brilliantly both in salon and at home with the Yogi Styling Wand, available at Peter Mark salons nationwide.

The 20% off all hairdressing services is currently still available at Peter Mark salons ROI. Right now there is also 20% off retail haircare products so you can not only have a makeover but also maintain and work your look to the maximum from home.
