The Heat Is On - The L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy Eliminator Takes Place
The 4th of April 2011 saw competitors from salons across Ireland go head to head in the L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy Eliminator event. A high profiled judging panel including Errol Douglas MBE, Adam Reed, Carolyn Newman, Jonny Engstrom and Simon Shaw, selected the finalists to go forward to compete at the L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy Grand Final on June 13th.
This year’s theme “Hair Inspired by Fashion” is inspirational, visionary, fashionable, glamorous and creative. There are four categories in the L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy, each presents the salons with creative platform to merge their skills and imagination with great teamwork.
L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy Award
The brief is to create a total female look featuring a forward thinking hair cut and finish, complemented with skillfully executed beautiful colour inspired by one of the catwalk trends for Autumn Winter 2010/11. The judging panel will select a total of 16 finalists from the entries.
L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy Men’s Image Award
This award will be presented to one of 10 finalists for a male total look featuring a forward-thinking haircut and finish complemented with skillfully executed beautiful colour inspired by one of the catwalk trends for Autumn Winter 2010/11.
L’Oréal Professionnel Young Colourist Award
This is a brand new category which will search for the brightest young technical talent across the Republic of Ireland. Entrants must create a female look that demonstrates a wearable, commercial, fashion-led high street colour and finish. Entrants will attend the Dublin Eliminator event to hear whether they will compete in the live Final running on the 23rd May at the L’Oréal Professionnel Academy in Dublin
The Tatler Award
The Irish Tatler Award is about wearable trends. It’s for today’s trend conscious women who are fashionable without wanting to look like they have tried too hard. Presented in association with Irish Tatler Magazine the award is open to the 16 Grand Finalists of the L’Oréal Professionnel Colour trophy only, and is judged by Irish Tatler Magazine.
