Dais II Launches at Showcase Ireland in association with Wella and Moët & Chandon
The Dais Project is a trilogy of films created by Irish stylist Sonya Lennon and Swiss/Irish film-maker Christian Ammann. The second part of the trilogy, Dais II will launch this evening (Tuesday, 24th of January) in association with the world’s leading champagne house Moët & Chandon and hair-care brand, Wella at an exclusive screening as part of Showcase Ireland in the RDS. .
The Dais II project showcases the international success of Irish fashion designers though the medium of film. Born from an original concept by Sonya Lennon, the Dais films aim to build a chronicle of the best fashion designers of our time, both established and emerging. The first Dais film, which was launched last autumn, was critically acclaimed and lauded by the design community and fashion industry in Ireland. The film received international recognition as a work of significance and beauty and was selected for the La Jolla Fashion Film Festival, in Los Angeles where it was screened alongside films by Bruce Weber and Karl Lagerfeld.
Showcase is Ireland’s Creative Expo, displaying some unique design-led fashion, knitwear and jewellery and is the perfect setting for the first ever screening of the new film. Dais II aims to grow on the success of the first film and continue to bring international awareness to the strength of the Irish fashion industry.
For more than 260 years, Moët & Chandon has been the reference for fabulous celebrations, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary with the pop of a cork. With the launch of Dais II, Moët & Chandon will reinforce its love affair with film by hosting a sumptuous champagne reception for all guests to be enjoyed with the film. Moët & Chandon has always played a glamorous role in the history of film, both on and off screen making Dais II and Moët & Chandon the perfect fit.
Speaking of Dais II, Sonya Lennon said; “The Dais Project is my response to a very exciting time for Irish designers. We are delighted to gather together our partners, supporters and designers to celebrate our vital and burgeoning fashion industry”.
Caroline Sleiman, Market Development Manager for Moët Hennessy spoke ahead of the screening saying; “We are delighted to start the year by supporting the success of Irish fashion designers and of course Sonya through the screening of Dais II”.
