Prime Time Emmy's 2010 - Winners and Losers (Fashion Wise)
The Prime Time Emmy’s went off very successfully last night – taking place in the Nokia Theatre in downtown LA - and overall it was a night for comedy as Modern Family won the Best Comedy Series and Glee – which was nominated for a stunning 19 Emmy Awards – took home two of the trophies on the night; one by Jane Lynch who won Best Supporting Actress and also Ryan Murphy for Best Comedy Direction.
Mad Men won Best Drama and Kyra Sedgwick won Best Actress in a Drama Series.
But our main focus last night was on the fashion of course and really and truly we can sum up our entire thoughts in one word –
YAWN…….
In fashion terms last nights red carpet outings were dull, dull and more dull. Nobody blew us away – not one dress made us truly catch our breath – nobody’s hair made us want to swish like a L’Oreal campaign…. NADA – NOTHING! Sigh…. As you can tell from the montage above, blue and navy were the new black on the red carpet. It was everywhere – and each one as equally boring as the next. However, some ladies did brighten things up a little -
Our favourites were as follows:
Best Dressed: Kim Kardashian looked elegant with swept back hair, pared back jewellery and a stunning long white Marchesa gown - a thumbs up indeed.
Two of our favourite people – had to include them cause we love them, but also because they looked pretty smokin’ hot last night – Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni – aka Detectives Benson and Stapler in Law and Order SVU. Mariska's dusky pink corsetted dress with delicate fringing and fishtale shape was elegant and sophisticated and thankfully NOT navy.
Kelly Osbourne looked absolutely gorgeous in this Tony Ward gown – Yes, it was black, but sometimes simplicity really works best and in this case it certainly does. She looks amazing – ahead of her new show ‘The Fashion Police’ which we will bring you more on shortly.
Not too sure about this Monique Lhuillier number worn by Kyra Sedgwick – Kyra says she was really “relaxed and comfortable” in the dress but come on Kyra, it’s dull as dishwater. Sometimes you need to take a little pain for the cause…. We think she could have been a tad braver.
Our Worst Dressed goes to Lauren Graham – who trailed along the red carpet in this awful, shapeless, unflattering Yigal Zarouel gown which really – well, there isn’t a whole lot I can say about this dress to be honest. I think I will let it speak for itself. Sigh….
