Back to School?? But without the Homework..
One of the prominent trends of the past two summer seasons has been that 'back to college' style; where relaxed, comfortable dressing with an all important retro edge - at times verging on preppy (in extreme cases) - takes over and this spring summer season it's back once again. Funky leather old style satchels but with modern colour blasts (such as this M&S satchel pictuerd above left - €35), boyfriend blazers, cardigans, pleats and even tweed are all elements that can be worked into an outfit to achieve a nod to this popular trend.
Our first inspiration shot is this gorgeous look from A|wear - the paisly print blouse is €35, the pleated palazzo trousers are €50, the heritage tweed blazer (which I ADORE) is €60, the brown satchel is €30 and the tan belt is €8. This is a stunning look and has that retro college vibe going on from head to toe!
This cardigan seems a bit prim on first glance (and second and third) but teamed with a cute pair of tweed shorts, some printed hosiery and some faded ankle boots, this would look amazing and would fulfill the brief perfectly. This turquoise cardi is €14 from Penneys.
I am so excited about Jonathan Saunders taking part in the 'Edition' capsule designer ranges at Debenhams. This tipped blazer from his S12 Editions collection is €109 at Debenhams
This gorgeous pleated skirt is also part of the Jonathan Saunders Edition Collection and is €70
Also working on the Editions capsule collections at Debenhams is Roksanda - and this gorgeous ribbon cardi is part of that collection €70
Make a real statement in saphire blue with this blazer from Warehouse €78
And complete the look with a bit of neon - with this pink satchel from New Look €27.99
