From the fashion archives of Marc Jabobs, see this picture from 1989 of Marc with Donna Karen. Dated but distinctly cool - something about this picture makes me smile from ear to ear. Jacobs' uncool, but cool, parka style coat being the ultimate signature of the anti-fashion grunge phase of the late eighties, early nineties. Donna Karen's distinticve glasses have come full circle to be the stamp of geek chic right now, the wide shoulder pads and the gold scarf however, I feel, remain questionable.... but i could look at this all day.
