On Sunday October 16th the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf links will hold to its annual wedding fair and play host to Dublin’s first ever Pop-Up Bridal Boutique. At the wedding fair, see the hotel set-up for your big day, walk the grounds, view the bridal suite, meet with the wedding co-ordinators and preferred suppliers and finally to add the icing to the cake, visit the all new ‘Pop-up Bridal Boutique’.
Blushing brides to be are expected to be out in force on the day at the beachfront hotel. Under the one roof a carefully selected array of suppliers will meet and greet attendees offering everything from flowers, music, photography and food to exclusive designer hats and sparkling jewels.
Six of Dublin’s most exclusive bridal boutiques for one day only will make themselves available for brides to be – with no waiting lists! The Pop-Up Bridal Boutique will showcase and sell spectacular wedding gowns at a fraction of the cost. Some boutiques will offer up to 80% off end of season lines and sample dresses. Veils and accessories will also be available to buy on the day. The event will begin at 1 pm and finish at 5 pm. Imagine visiting 6 boutiques in 4 hours!
Bridal Boutiques ‘popping-up’ for the day include the renowned ‘Myrtle Ivory’ of St. Anne’s Lane, ‘De Stafford’s’ of Howth, ‘White Orchid’ of Swords and ‘Belleza Bridal’ of Charlesmont Street. Dress designers will be on hand with a selection of once off offers from ‘Marie Kardos Designs’ and ‘Anne Gregory Designs’. With free entry and dream dresses at your fingertips this is expected to be hugely popular event amongst brides to be.
Event organiser, Kate Moran points out, “No-one likes having to wait 6-7 weeks for a weekend appointment for one boutique. It spoils the fun. The ‘Pop-up Bridal Boutique’ is an exciting unique event as it requires no appointments, is free, and will have hundreds of beautiful bridal dresses at bargain prices under the one roof for one day only”.
Myrtle Ivory who will be at the Pop-Up Bridal Boutique are delighted with the opportunity. “It’s great to do something different and it’s a fantastic opportunity for brides to meet the boutiques, see the dresses, try them on and walk up with isle in a breathtaking dress.”
Secret Chic will be presenting an array of fabulous occasion hats, designer headpieces and bridal jewellery which can be bought or rented on the day. Sarah Carbery of Secret Chic is confident she can provide the finishing touches for brides and mother of the brides with her accessories.
Sister duo act, Kate & Cassie Make-up Academy will be on hand to demonstrate glowing bridal looks and will offer tips and advice on how to achieve a long lasting, radiant, flawless finish for any beautiful bride. Hair ideas and seasonal looks will be performed by top stylist Dave Cashman who will create bridal looks for 2012 throughout the day.
The Pop-Up Bridal Boutique and Wedding Fair at the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf links will be open to the public at 1pm and will work on a first come, first serve basis. Attendees are advised to get there early to avoid disappointment. Free parking will be available in the Hotel car parks.
