What have Michael J Fox and Muhammed Ali got in common?
You will never guess the answer to this question. Both these men have Parkinsons Disease. Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition which directly impacts the lives of about 9,000 people in the Republic of Ireland. The Parkinson’s Association of Ireland (PAI) was established in 1987. The association provides services and support to people affected by Parkinson’s disease in Ireland. The Parkinson’s Association of Ireland receive no government funding and relies on fundraising and donations.
As a result of this Mary Lynch of Tralee has organised a fundraising event to raise fund for this very deserving charity.
Fashions Night Out will take place in The Earl of Desmond Hotel in Tralee on Thursday November 24th. The night itself will begin at 8pm with a champagne reception with a twist. There will be the usual selection of canapés but the twist will come in the form beautiful cupcakes from Christy’s Homebakery.
The show which will begin at 8.30 will feature fashion from local shops and designers such as the 2011 Kerry Designer of the Year Karyn Moriarty. Mc on the night will be Alan Finn from Radio Kerry. Models on the night will be from Upfront Model Management with Make-up by Laura Lynch of Doll Face Make-up Artistry and Hair by Cathriona Rohan of Cathrionas Hair Salon in Castlegregory all of which have offered their time & services for charity. There will also be a few surprises during the evening and a raffle.
Ladies .... Dress to impress as there will be a Best Dressed competition which will be judged by the 2011 Kerry Rose Sile Ni Dheargain.
The after party will be rocked by the sounds of local band Blue Shampoo who are also performing for free.
