Goodbye 2010 Hello 2011
Where to start it’s been a whirl wind of a couple of months. Magners Fall for Fashion Show in Belfast where I was showing beside Paul Costello and Day Birger. It was so nice to be seen as an international designer in my motherland and where I first had a show almost 4 years ago!
From then we also teamed up with ‘Candy Plum’ boutique in Hillsborough N.Ireland and in aid of Save The Children did a show in Hillsborough castle. It was a HUGE honour! We had to change the date a week later as the queen was going to be staying on our original date – I certainly didn’t mind changing for her - made it even more exciting.
The venue itself was like stepping into a Marie Antoinette movie. Starting with a Champaign reception in the drawing room, accompanied by a pianist & harpist playing in the background. The interior was spectacular, with pictures of royals and presidents who have visited. The catwalk was in the Throne room where several chandeliers and gold trimmings framed the room - Truly breathe taking! I must study my family tree better and make sure that one of the Boomers isn’t connected!
I could definitely live like a princess and certainly would not object to living in a castle!
As things started to slow down for the Christmas holidays, ‘the big freeze’ hit the Uk & Ireland and the A/W’11 Design process kicked in, looks like winter fashion will change next year - garments that hide Thermal underwear, shoes that allow thick socks to be worn and instead of slick leather gloves we are all going to be in chunky mittens and Hunter Wellingtons are the new Ugg boot. Designers approach to next years winter fashion will see chunky knits reach a whole another level!
Also in the run up to Christmas Zoe Boomer has had some fun with ‘be the Change’ T-Party Christmas sales. These are private sales in a home with invite only or bring a friend. They can come in, play Dress up, purchase some bargains, then sit in comfort with mulled wine & yummy treats with a charity in mind for Donations - this year was A21 & Compassion. Both amazing charities to check out!
And that brings me up to 2011, where for this week only to celberate the new year Zoe Boomer has a clearance sale on the online boutique - www.zoeboomer.com
This year is set to be a year of new adventures and you will be glad to know my new years resolution is to up-date more on this blog!
So till then wishing you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR….
