Eh not true on this occasion, the fashion legend himself Karl Lagerfeld, head designer and creative director of Chanel is helping design his own island!!!! Seriously, how bizarre yet insanely fabulous is that?!! The fashion world really never ceases to amaze me... The Isla Moda, a dedicated fashion island, designed in Lagerfeld’s vision is located 20km of the coast of Dubai... Cannot wait to see some pics!
Expected to be completed by 2014, the island, according to Vogue will comprise of three luxury hotels, 150 residential villas and a host of chic boutiques. Apparently inspired by the floating palaces of India and cruise ships!! Oh can you just imagine the fashion glitterati with their Hermes beach towels and Chanel swimwear......
Speaking of the venture, Lagerfeld stated; “Dubai is a fashion bud on the verge of blossoming into the next fashion hub of the world. The city is alive with culture and rich in personality, making it a perfect place for aesthetic, fashion and design to flourish. Isla Moda has tremendous potential to be the style icon of the future and I intend on driving the island to high style stardom.”
