New Year, New You.
January…there are thousands of articles, blogs, columns, books, et al this month provoking us to be a fresh new version of ourselves. Resolutions etc. Giving us post-Christmas guilt and alarming us into mental and physical shape. I am NOT caving in, partly because I wasn’t overly bold over the festive season, but also I just don’t want to feel like I need to diet and detox myself into a stupor simply because it’s the given thing to do at the turn of the year.
Surely, I am getting back into my normal fitness regime, walking the dogs, drinking my green tea and eating less (the last of the biscuit tins are finished…sad times). My local gym is offering an extreme new ‘cheaper’ package, but statistically those who join a gym on a new year whim, stop going within four months.
My last blog discussed the sale rush, January is a time you can treat yourself, if you are being less naughty in the food department, treat yourself in other ways, by buying a new little top or dress, Penny’s spring/summer range is beautiful and won’t cost the earth. A floral shirt or a colourful shift dress will cheer you right up and make you forget the gloomy winter months. Also, try refreshing your mind by reading more? Why not so something out of your comfort zone? Try a course, join a sports team, enroll in a new class?
