Degree finished and Summer has arrived!

Just finished my undergrad degree in Communications, and though I’m ecstatic the all study nighters, exam stress and thesis headaches are well are truly over...I’m also really sad to be leaving DCU behind me! The three years FLEW and I made such good friends and memories along the way. Feeling quite sentimental actually, reminiscing on all the craic I’ve had in Dublin, the nights out, the random places I’ve lived in and the culture shock I got upon leaving Donegal. That said I could be back in the big smoke shortly, applied for a MA in Public Relation’s in DIT, interview this Thursday, so finger crossed! However I am delighted to be home for the summer months-especially since I’ve been welcomed home by a gorgeous heat-wave, you honestly cannot beat Donegal in the sun, its beautiful!

As well as the heat and the home comforts, there are so many parties and nights out planned, end of exam celebrations, 21st’s galore and catch up’s with everyone at home! This abundance of social engagements automatically equals a new summer wardrobe! Due to all the stress and work that comes with the final months of final year, I have been so out of touch with the magazines, and the shops, and as a result I have been treating myself to hours of window shopping, magazine reading and online browsing and I’m loving all the chilled out Summer styles.  The faded denim cut off’s are a firm favourite, looking cool and casual with glads and a slouchy tee, or funked up with shoe boots and a fringed top! Love them, Littlewoods have a beautiful little dark denim pair with an elasticised high-waist that are ultra flattering and versatile!   After having major-withdrawals from shopping after my year of being a broke/stressed student, I got my summer job sorted and had a retail wish-list made before pay-day... I’m craving a pair of white converse, a tan satchel, a fringed leather waist-coat, a few play-suits, grey shoe-boots and a tribal bikini, to name but a few.

My love for Asos.com has been re-ignited as well, now that I have time to browse it without feeling guilty of dossing, and have actual events coming up, and it has not let me down. The new dress collections are stunning, I’m having a reall maxi-dress obsession of late and Asos has some beauts, a coral maxi with chunky wedges and multiple bangles would be perfect for a summer wedding. Asos also provided me with my dress for my upcoming 21st , a cream floaty grecian mini,  it is so comfy and I fell for it before the page even loaded up, on further inspection I realised it was the one for me, and at a reasonable price with such speedy delivery.  The feature which allows you too see the model to a cat-walk in you’re dress of choice is brilliant as well, as sometimes its difficult to picture a dress on yourself, and it also gives you a better idea of what kind of fabric the dress is.

Well, like I said I am a bit sad to be done and dusted with DCU and no longer an undergrad but I am excited for what the summer will bring, and results and interview pending, what my post-Summer plans will be. Will keep you posted!
