Fizzy Face Jab - Yet ANOTHER anti-wrinkle treatment on the market...
What ever happened to growing old gracefully eh? I suppose its hard when images of beautiful women with smooth foreheads, de-puffed eyes and pore-less porcelain skin are shoved in our faces in every direction, be it in magazines, on TV or on beauty advertisements. Its a taboo these days to have lines and creases, but its a natural progression in the life of skin. I'm all for taking care of my skin and have been known to have little freak attacks about lines appearing, but I seriously don't believe that a cream can erase wrinkles, and yes, botox and collagen injections plump them out, but what happens to your face after continued treatment? Nobody knows yet - its a scary concept (cant wait to see the likes of Kylie, Danni and Pam in a few years!). Another unsettling thought is what the next generation of women will feel about ageing. I've heard of girls as young as 16 complaining about lines?
Loosing those youthful looks is a fear that has been haunting women since the Ancient Egyptians, who tried all sorts of concoctions to delay the onset of time including milk baths and honey masks, which I blogged about a few weeks back. I don't condone treatments to keep wrinkles at bay, but I just wish the emphasis on getting older wasn't so negative. Leave a few lines and blemishes on the magazine covers to show us that its OK, we're not all perfect specimens!
Moving on. A new treatment on the 'no to wrinkles' market is a carbon dioxide jab -carbon dioxide being the invisible odorless gas that puts the fizz into pop. Its called Carboxytherapy and is claiming to banish dark circles, brighten skin, tighten jowls and even help with baldness - all without giving you the constant 'suprised' face you get with botox. However, it wont get rid of deep wrinkles, but it will increase new collagen development. So what do you think? Fancy having a face pumped full of fizz in years to come?
