I lusted after NARS. I got NARS. Did NARS impress?.....

Did NARS impress? Well, yay and nay. I was brought back a big bag of goodies from Sephora (what's Sephora you say? Oh, only the best makeup store IN.THE.WORLD!), from the US of A recently (thanks to a certain Mr Man, aka, me fella), and some NARS classics were among the goods. I have lusted over NARS since I spotted them on a J1 in California 3 years back - I couldn't afford them then as all my hard earned dollars (made in *cough cough* SEAWORLD!) were spent on ridiculous rent, slurpies from 7/11, KFC monster buckets, oh, and conditioner (my hair was like the Sahara!). So needless to say, when I was presented with two of NARS best selling products, I jumped for joy whilst gospel hallelujah's filled the room* (*a fragment of my imagination!).

First out of its wrapper was the cult classic NARS blush in Orgasm. And, orgasmic it aint. I feel majorly let down here! This blusher has won rave reviews the world over and is every beauty editor's fav pick of blushes. NARS Orgasm promises to "make cheeks blush a perfect pinky-peach flush and subtly highlight with accents of golden shimmer" - and to top that off they claim that Orgasm is ‘universally flattering' which means it basically looks good on any shade of skin. LIARS! Although it is an OK blush, and the packaging is beautiful (10/10 there!) it just didn't deliver. The tones are way too pinky and no matter which way I applied it, I looked like I had sunburn on my cheeks or had just got a clatter around the face. However, it's in my makeup bag now, and its staying there because I've wanted it so long I can't give it up now. But basically, I'll be sticking to another cult classic, which actually delivers, Benefits Dandelion. (oh how I love thee!)

Second up to the stand is NARS Barbella lippie. Oh, I'm hearting this big time! This is a subtle peachy shade which is super moisturizing. It's very flattering and natural on the lips although the staying power aint the greatest, which means you're constantly touching it up, so this gem isn't going to last long. Again, the packaging is the bomb, simple but effective. I'm not a fan of heavy makeup looks (except for a night on the tiles) and this works fab for the au naturel look. A keeper for me!

I couldn't find any stockists of NARS here in Ireland or maybe there is and I didn't look hard enough (I didn't look very hard) - but I do know some NARS products are sold on www.strawberrynet.com , although the 2 products I'm blabbing on about aren't on there. Bummer.
