Style Perfect Heels

I think I just fell in love with a Nina Divito shoe. Actually scratch that how could I choose, I’m in love with the entire collection. The wait is nearly over. As you already know Nina Divito’s Spring/Summer 2010 launch collection will be stocked in Brown Thomas on Grafton Street and Kalu in Kildare by the end of March.

Just a bit about the designer in question: Nina Divito is a renowned artist whose main painting subject-matter is of course, every girls closet essential, the high-heel. The paintings are characteristically vivid and intense in colour and the designs are modern and often embellished with glittering swarovski crystals or ruby-red roses. These ultra glamorous paintings are now, thankfully, being realised into a beautiful shoe collection.

The collection as a whole has a very structured feel too it, seen in the cut out teardrop forms on the sling-back platform heels, the large petal pattern on the ankle platform boots and the ornate fan detail on the violet sling-back heel. Yet the collection is also decidedly feminine with “a playful sexuality”, not unlike Divito’s stylish paintings. The palette of colour consists of light pastels of powdered violet, cream and sherbet pink and the materials are very luscious including silks and soft leathers. The true gem of the collection (and it is hard to choose just one, seriously) is the Eddie shoe a white Nappa leather court with red rose and green vine detail.

Prices start at 335 euro so start saving; this collection is something you do not want to let slip through your fingers. To get a look at the entire collection check out www.ninadivito.com. So we only have less then one month to wait with baited breath. There is already a fierce demand for the shoes, so keep on your toes if you want to nab a pair. If on the collection’s release date you happen to spot someone running frantically towards the Brown Thomas shoe rooms, that’d be me. If I can’t buy a pair just yet (being a poor student and all that) I’m at least trying them on…
