Peppermint Foot Remedies from The Body Shop
I am becoming a bigger and bigger Body Shop fan as the months go by. I was always a fan, having picked up little make up items and body scrubs and the like over the years, but recently I am truly beginning to experience their brilliance first hand. For instance, I have been using a great little product called Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion on my face at night, every night, even if I have no blemishes whatsoever I put it where they generally break out... i.e. along the hormonal lines etc). If you have blemish prone skin then you will most likely be aware of the great drying and anti bacterial benefits of tea tree oil, and I find that with this product, not only do blemishes fade quicker, but it helps to prevent them getting worse or even appearing at all - now, it doesn't claim to do this, it only claims to fade the marks that blemishes have left etc, but it actually does have dual benefits - so this is really a marvellous little bottle of gorgeousness. (although it does dry out the areas you use it on, so if you have a dry skin problem you may want to moisturise first?) BUT that's not what I'm posting about today.... or at least it wasn't supposed to be! What I'm posting about is the Peppermint Foot Range of Products pictured below.
Recently, my mum has been suffering with a rather painful strained instep... or something uncomfortable in that general area of her foot - and so when passing The Body Shop in Dundrum I picked her up a tub of Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue (€15.95) to see would it offer her any relief. I've always been aware of the healing benefits of peppermint on the gut and indeed my student years as a bartender meant I handed out many shots of peppermint cordial and peppermint liquour for those with dodgy, morning after night before stomach issues. But for your feet? This was new to me... so I was interested to know how my mum would react.
Well, to be fair, she has been raving about it ever since and has applied it every single day since I purchased it. Apparently it really, genuinley has offered her a temporary relief from the heat and the pain associated with muscle problems which she wasn't entirley expecting and it really helped give her foot a refreshing boost when she most needed it. Of course, it also has made her tootsies smell rather good too! So, duly impressed by this, I have decided to highlight the full range here. It's clearly worth checking out - if my mom says it's great, then it must be true!

This is part of the preservative-free range products at the Body Shop, using wonderful high-grade peppermint oil sourced through the The Body Shop fair trade programme, Community Trade. The peppermint used across the range grows in the English countryside in naturally well-watered nutrient-rich soil, without the use of pesticides. The leaves are regularly checked from July to August and harvested at the optimum time to provide the perfect balance of active properties and rich scent, all of which results in the highest quality oil for a more intensely cooling sensation on the feet.
