Fake Tan Disasters: Do Debenhams Have the Solution?
So we've all been there right? The streaky moments, the dirty tan that won't come off, the stinky bottle that has left a weird residue, that mortifying moment when it starts to rain and your 'instant bronzer' starts to run off your legs, leaving winding white streaks behind.... the list goes on and on but those are fairly 'normal' tan problems - however the oompah lumpah effect - one that you would hope most lads and ladies are now very aware of - is still believe it or not, rearing it's ugly brown head. Celebs are forever making this horrendously inexcusable mistake - as our montage above shows - but it's not just the Hollywood hotties who are getting it so wrong. Only recently, when out shopping, I spied a really pretty young woman who was hiding, quite literally, behind layers of brown muck... with only the whites of her eyes to prove that she was, in fact, a human. So incredibly unflattering!
But it seems that perhaps Debenham's have a solution to this problem and no, it doesnt involve power hosing or paint stripping. In a move that can only be deemed as 'comical but somehow necessary', Debenhams have created a chart, which resembles a paint colour guide, especially to stop fake tan fanatics recreating the Oompa Loompa effect.
They have now placed this ‘Tan Tone Chart in all their Beauty Halls. Designed to give customers an indication as to where they fall on the tanning scale, which ranges from Pale and Interesting’ to ‘Radioactive Orange’ - we think this idea absolutetly rocks! There is the possibility of course that customers may feel a little shocked and perhaps even offended if they happen to fall down near the ‘Burnt to a Crisp’ section of the chart. However, this harsh but fair method may really serve as a public good – aiming at ridding the country of oompah loompas once and for all. Tubridy will be very pleased indeed!
